SAFETY Ensure the chainsaw is on a stable workbench. Ensure engine is cold. Wear safety glasses and gloves.
TOOLS T27 Torx or 4mm Allen, 19mm/13mm Scrench, Piston Stop Tool (for later phases), Flashlight, Clean rags.
INSPECT Spark Plug Tip:
Reference mesh of a sheared starter pawl — a real 3D scan is pending. Compare wear patterns against your physical unit.
INSPECT Flywheel Clearance:
WARNING Do not force a jammed flywheel. Perform these isolation steps in order to determine the bind point:
3D model reference — a real scan of the ignition coil is pending.
[INTERNAL SEIZURE]: If steps 1-3 fail to free the flywheel, the bind is internal. Check this box and proceed immediately to Muffler Removal (Step 4).
INSPECT Clutch System: Spin the clutch drum by hand.
WARNING DO NOT attempt to remove the clutch yet. It is reverse-threaded and requires a proper piston stop.
CRITICAL Exhaust Port: Shine a bright flashlight directly into the exhaust port while slowly pulling the starter rope (if not fully seized).
